6th Annual National Surgical Conference: Sheffield

Sheffield Surgical Society is hosting the 6th Annual National Surgical Conference for Foundation & Student Doctors, in association with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Time: 17 February 2018 from 8:30am until 5pm.

Location: Sheffield Medical School


Our theme for this year’s conference is “Where has surgery taken you?. We have expert consultants from various specialities who will speaking about their own experiences and careers. This will be followed by research presentations and practical workshops.

You will have the opportunity to attend either a 3-hour Advanced Wound Closure Masterclass, or attend 3 of the following workshops:

  1. Laparoscopic skills
  2. Cricothyroidotomy
  3. Orthopaedic External Fixation
  4. Sim Man
  5. Sebaceous Cyst Excision
  6. Developing Your Surgical CV

Signups for workshops will be opened closer to the time of the conference. You will be updated via email when this happens. 

The cost to attend the conference (incl. Lunch & Tea/Coffee) is:

  • £15 for non-members
  • £13 for SurgSoc members
  • £10 for RCSEd affiliates


This conference is a great opportunity to speak to consultants about their surgical interests and meet other colleagues with similar interests in surgery. You will also receive a certificate of attendance for your portfolio.
